The magazine I chose to write about was teenVOGUE. I realize I’m twenty-one years old and maybe should have picked something a little more scholarly if not at least age appropriate, such as TIME or COSMO; however, I chose teenVOGUE because the reason I become a journalism major is because one day I’d like to own my own teen magazine. I have a passion for youth, I adore fashion, but I also have a heart for news. I believe that young girls need a magazine that not only inspires the way they dress but also encourages them to be enlightened citizens.
Although labeled teenVOGUE, this magazine’s target audience also includes young college students, featuring many college-aged women in the stories they write as well as in the readers’ responses they publish. One might also argue that it’s intended for the “artsy” type of girl, highlighting ads and fashions that are much more artistic in nature than practical.
Primarily, the articles are written in 1st person narration making the magazine very conversational and personal in nature. The magazine lends itself to this type of writing style due to the fact that most of the articles are dedicated to fashion, blogger comments, and short paragraph interviews with models or celebrities. However, the magazine does focus on more relevant issues facing girls as well, such as the fairness (or lack thereof) in same-sex classes and the importance of eating breakfast; in these types of articles a much more professional writing style is used, one that would make the AP Stylebook proud.

Nah, I asked you to write about a mag you like, not one you think you ought to like.
Good discussion what you like about this mag.
